Name: Ingor
Backstory: Jeni knew Ingor was oddly connected to her from the first moment when she fashioned him from the clammy air clay. His eyes were piercing, his skin crinkled with purple crusties. His expression seemed to say, “Trust me,” but his otherwise ominous vibe muttered, “Take just one step closer, lady.” His crystalline crown gave him an air of authority and fanfare. His sparkling drool was simultaneously mesmerizing and disturbing. He wouldn’t eat anything she offered him, but he was always plump and healthy. For what did he hunger?
Then things started to go missing.
Jeni’s jewelry was the first thing to go. Her sparkly necklaces and shimmery rings disappeared. Jen assumed it was burglary and reported it, but there was no sign of forced entry. Her rhinestone bedazzled blouses vanished next. Then her glitter gel pens. Jeni looked high and low, but it was useless. Eventually, every sparkly thing in her home was gone except for a single candle holder made of facetted prisms. At this point, she had a suspicion.
She laid a trap, setting the candle holder in the middle of her living room and faked a hasty exit from her home.
Creeping back in, the crunching reached her ears before the sight of Ingor did—crouched over the candle holder with his quartz fangs crushing it to a fine glittering dust. Ingor froze and locked eyes with Jeni. It was then that Jeni realized the truth. Ingor was her alter ego, and they’d been eating the glittery things for weeks. Jeni looked at the shattered prisms in her hands and took another delectable bite.
No wonder she drooled sparkles.
